Who We Are

DNA USP

The DIXIM was born to show that most crimes are economically motivated and that illicit economy and victimization are connected phenomena. To find this relationship, we used data intelligence and methods inspired by modern criminological science.

In Brazil we have three major obstacles: data sources are dispersed; access to them is difficult, and events are classified by offense only. When a criminal steals or smuggles a cell phone, car, or electronics, the criminal problem to be solved is not the crime of “theft or smuggling”, but the illicit market in cell phones, car parts, and electronics. Likewise, homicide cases can be provoked either by illicit markets or by “non-economic” criminal problems such as domestic violence. Therefore, the focus is on the criminal problem and not the crime.

Inadequate data leads to erroneous analysis, high-cost, low-performance combat actions. You can't control what you don't know. We are a criminal data intelligence company, dedicated to providing solutions to identify and control criminal problems, especially illicit markets. Through our own methodology, we collect, reclassify and analyze criminal events, producing data intelligence to identify criminal problems and support companies, governments, and entities in the planning and control of risks and losses generated by illicit markets and other types of criminal problems that cause victimization.

DIXIM is a company in the Research, Development, and Innovation ecosystem of the State of São Paulo.
